John Åhlin

I'm a composer and sound designer based in Stockholm. I've been working with games and interactive audio since 2017. Writing music and creating sounds that adapt and react alongside the player is something I genuinely love doing.

Since going full time, my primary focus has been mobile game audio and web audio development. Lately I've also been spending a lot of time on trailer music. I really enjoy building tension and impact within that tight format, especially with the intersection of sound design and music. I also record as John Dunder, an atmospheric synth project.

Guitar is at the heart of most things I make, even when it's buried deep in the mix. I have a soft spot for stringed instruments in general - acoustic and organic textures that I then layer against electronic production and cinematic sound design. That combination is what I keep coming back to.

When I'm not in the studio, I'm usually somewhere in the Swedish wilderness - often overnight, with a field recorder ready.
